I have type 1 diabetes and it it hard for me to eat right and keep my levels normal. I also run out of strips and can’t afford to buy more so I don’t test my sugar levels. please send me some information about what I can eat and maybe if you could send me some other things to help me out.

“Diabetics, that means free strips to test your blood!”

No, I’m sorry but it doesn’t. If you are on Social Security and Medicare, and you paid Social Security taxes in your life then you already paid for them. However, if you are on Social Security and Medicare, AND did not pay any Social Security taxes in your life then someone else is paying for them with their Social Security taxes. But they are not nor will they ever be free. Shame on you, Liberty Medical! This is a really bad way to advertise.

Also looking for free or cheap test strips. I have no insurance and am only able to work part time at a low paying place because I have no car and have to walk. I try to keep my testing at a minumum to save $ but it’s a bad thing. Free clinic not currently accepting new patients. Been trying to order free glucometers online but running out of options. Any ideas?

  6. Chris Raleigh NC Says:

Just found out that you can usually find strips for roughly 1/2 off at Ebay . I do not work for them but I thought this information may be useful to some people. Don’t forget to order online free glucometers online that usually come with 10 sample strips. Hey, maybe their strips are cheaper than the one you’re using. Good luck.

I am 43 and I feel lucky at this time. Working for the state of Texas and now having our Insurance Benifits attacked so bad, Blue Cross and Blue Shield pays up to 1000 a year on Diabetes supplies. 80percent each 3 month order, but it still isn’t enough testing 4 times per day.

I too am looking for free strips, if there is such a thing. I go to a free clinic and they give strips out every 2 months, 50 of them. I test 3x a day and 50 is not enough for a month at 2x aday. I was hoping that Bayer would have something that would help as that is what the clinic gives. Any info on this or anything else for strips, would be appreciated.
